Last night the draws for the next round of the Carabao Cup and the UEFA Champions League took place. Let’s start with the Champions League.
Group A – Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Monaco, Club Brugge
Group B – Barcelona, Tottenham, PSV, Inter Milan
Group C – PSG, Napoli, Liverpool, Red Star
Group D – Lokomotiv Mosco, Porto, Schalke, Galatasaray
Group E – Bayern Munich, Benfica, Ajax, AEK,
Group F – Manchester City, Shakhtar, Lyon, Hoffenheim
Group G – Real Madrid, Roma, CSKA, Viktoria Plzen
Group H – Juventus, Manchester United, Valencia, Young Boys
Our Thoughts: Well the obvious groups that grab your attention are A and B, Spurs again for the second year in a row have been handed a difficult group. Atletico, Dortmund and Monaco should fancy their chances and will complete for the two places. Liverpool have maybe been handed the toughest group, PSG and Napoli are both good sides and Belgrade is a very difficult place to travel for any team. Group D is the weakest group we think all four teams will fancy their chances. Bayern and Man City will both be pleased with their draws and will fancy themselves as group winners. Same with Real Madrid, though Moscow and the plastic pitch is a horrible place to travel. Group H, I think we could see a surprise and Manchester United could go out. We will have a full Champions League preview and Beginners Guide in the build-up to the tournament.
What do you think? You will get out of the group and who will go onto win?
